Ever wondered what it looks like when a Civil Penalty Notice from The Council lands on your doormat?
Here’s what landed at one HMO landlord’s very recently for an unlicensed HMO.
Just shy of an entire ream of paper.
This includes two civil penalty notices for the failure to licence and eight civil penalty notices for breaches of the HMO Management Regulations. A fairly typical package for any unlicensed HMO.
Reading through this lot and then being able to make the correct legal representations is not a job for the faint-hearted.
In fact, it is not a job for the non-specialist.
Thankfully, this landlord had the sense to come to Landlord Licencing & Defence for assistance.
